Wrapping it Up
by Stormy on June 29, 2005

It's fairly mandatory, when going through a state capital, that I stop off at the capitol to get a picture.

By the time I got to the car after the bat flight, it was completely dark. About the only thing left on the horizon was dinner and finding my hotel. But Congress Avenue Bridge was also just a mile or so south of the Texas State Capitol. I did not need an invitation to head that way. Generally I like doing this sort of stuff when the sun is still out as it makes for better pictures, but this time around I had to make the most of the time of night I had available. After a few pictures against the backdrop of the Texas State Capitol, I had dinner at the Austin Hard Rock Café and headed to my hotel to turn in for the night. It had been another busy day!

Traffic lights and the Texas State Capitol. A beautiful contrast at night.

Night photography can be a touch tricky. A little too much exposure or a little too little and the whole thing is gone. Sometimes you fiddle with the settings and try it without a flash.
