A Run Through the Mountains
by Stormy on September 23, 2001

Mountains are those tall things west of Denver. It's been so long that I almost forgot what they look like!

Today I was asked if I wanted to go to the mountains. What a silly question! Of course I want to go to the mountains! That's where I'm from, after all. We did not drive all the way into the mountains, but we did go to Roxborough in southwest Denver and looked around the parks there. Roxborough is a very beautiful place with many sandstone ridges protruding from the ground. There is a lot to see and do here. I wish I'd have had more time to play around! We also visited the headwaters of the Highline Canal. It's also the start of the trail that follows the canal for almost 70 miles through south and east Denver neighborhoods. This is one trail I don't want to hike. I don't think my toes can take 70 miles!
